All vehicles on public roads must have an annual MOT test from three years after first registration, and CIC Autos MOT Centre Ltd perform Class 1, 2 & 4 MOT testing. This includes most cars and light commercial vehicles, including classics and vintage vehicles (with up to 8 passenger seats), motorhomes, campervans, mopeds and motorbikes. We have two testing lanes – one for two-wheeled vehicles, and the other for four-wheeled vehicles.

The headlamp, rear light, indicators, and reflectors are inspected for overall condition and operation. Also checked that they are secure, the correct colour, and that their aim is correct.
Examined to check overall condition. Forks, handlebars, head bearings, swinging arm, grips mounting, shock absorbers, and damping effect are all inspected to ensure they work properly and are secure.

Must operate as intended. It will be checked to ensure it isn’t shortened, bent, or damaged.
The entire exhaust system will be examined to make sure it’s in good condition, attached to the bike securely, and doesn’t exceed noise limits/regulations.
Checked for leaks and overall condition.
This will be inspected to make sure it’s free from cracks, distortion, corrosion, or any other damage.
These must be present and legible.
A rider’s seat must be present and attached securely. This also applied to any pillion seat present.
Front and rear brakes will be tested to make sure they perform correctly, and that the controls are in good condition.
Checked to make sure it operates correctly.
A horn must be present, suitable for the motorbike, and in good working order.
All footrests must be present and securely fitted.
Inspection of these will check that the chain isn’t tight, loose, or worn, that the chain guard is secure and that the sprocket isn’t dangerously worn.
Your motorbike wheels (front and rear) will be inspected for correct alignment.

We charge £30 for a Class 1 or 2 MOT and £50 for a Class 4 MOT test. If your car or motorbike should fail its MOT and need a retest once work has been completed on it any retest is free.
